Evolution & Trends
I have been working in the health industry for more than 15 years, through employment agencies, of which offered professional nursing services. This use of private agencies, which only dates from the mid-1990s, were precipitated by the outpatient shift, combined with a shortage of nurses to meet immediate labour needs. *Faced with this growing shortage, nursing staff alone, more than 1.9 million hours were worked by independent labour in my early years, i.e., in 2007-2008*. While conducting my services, I noticed that the health personnel were insufficient to meet the needs of the patients. Even before the pandemic, levels of staff burnout was having a direct impact on the quality of care. Nurses are indispensable and essential in all elements of health care.
Whether for a minor emergency medical consultation, more in-depth examinations such as scans or simply having blood tests (the basis of all multidisciplinary services), access to the free health system of the public network, has for quite some time already, waiting lists that continues to grow. This has allowed me, over time, to hear, on many occasions, the different emotional and functional needs of a population that is increasingly sick and devoid of a solution.
I believe, beyond any doubt, that the services of private health professionals are part of THE solution of the future.
*The government is currently doing business with private surgery clinics to reduce its waiting lists. *Private services in the medical field are an alternative of choice and a new reality in the face of current difficulties. (*La presse / 01 juin 2022)
I am convinced that the public has everything to gain by opting for this intelligent choice that even pays off economically !
